Early 19th Century Irish Provincial Yew-wood Library Table

Yew-wood furniture is extremely rare as yew-wood was normally only grown in graveyards, as it is poisonous to farm animals, it stopped people allowing their animals graze in the graveyards.

This Table rests on beautiful side pillar columns terminating in carved hairy paw feet. There are two drawers and two false drawers on the reverse side. The table top is made of solid yew-wood boards which taper with the shape of the tree which creates a great rustic provincial country look.

A versatile piece which can be used as a Side Table, Centre Table, Sofa Table or as a Desk for an office or library.
