19th Century marquetry inlaid Centre Occasional Table.

This is a superb quality marquetry inlaid French Table from the third quarter of the 19th century. The table rests on four brass mounted reeded tapering legs joined at the bottom with a shapely cross stretcher. The top is decorated with various exotic woods, namely kingwood, rosewood, satinwood, and walnut with the centre cartouche depicting an ornate urn on console surrounded by swags and flowers, as are the two D shaped drop leaves.

The top and drop leaves are bordered with a gilt brass moulding and the table comes with its original working lock and key. (529)
